NovoTemia

Artemia (Brine shrimps) Eggs
  • 20 g artemia eggs (brine shrimps), premium quality with maximum hatching rates.
  • Ideal food for newly hatched fry as well as young, growing fish. A great treat for larger, fastidious fish.
  • Ideally suitable for freshwater and saltwater fish.
  • Best possible hatching results achieved in combination with JBL NovoSal.
Artemia nauplii are the ideal live feed for fish fry which can be easily cultivated from JBL NovoTemia artemia eggs as required. Staple feed. Instructions for use included.

JBL NovoTemia artemia eggs are cultivated in a 2 - 3% salt solution (iodine-free cooking salt or, preferably, sea salt). The best containers are transparent glass or plastic bottles. Fill a 0.7 l bottle with approx. 0.5 l water and add 10 - 15 g salt (1 heaped teaspoon) and 1 - 3 measuring spoons of NovoTemia artemia eggs, as required. If more nauplii are required, more bottles should be prepared. With vigorous, large-bubbled aeration and a temperature of approx. 25C, the nauplii will hatch in about 24 hours, and correspondingly slower at lower temperatures. Aeration with any commonly available air pump for the aquarium (e.g. JBL ProSilent) is absolutely vital and produces the best possible hatching results as well as an adequate supply of oxygen.

After hatching, aeration should be turned off. The nauplii will gather on the bottom of the bottle after a few minutes, with the empty egg cases floating on the surface of the water. Note: the nauplii will die from lack of oxygen if they are not siphoned off quickly. The nauplii can be siphoned off into an artemia sieve (specialist shop) using a fine tube. Rinse briefly in freshwater and then feed. Clean bottle thoroughly before re-using.
